Well, I missed yesterday. I had the best of intentions to take at LEAST some snaps on Thanksgiving.. But when I got to my mom's I realized I forgot my memory card. :( So no pictures of our T-giving.

I had a photo shoot today, and as much as I told myself I would NOT use photoshoots for my POTD, I'm breaking my rule already. I may have to tomorrow too, but after that I promise to be good!

We put our tree up today... and once we started the kids wouldn't stop until it was decorated... along with most of our other decorations. LOL Tonight I just decided to do a few of the tree..

Well I will start out with some photos that were actually taken for this project on the 18th of this month. I took these as we were preparing to go see this movie on the 21st. I actaully bought the candy with the intention of shooting it. So here goes.

Luke 19:20 tells us that if we keep quiet, the rocks will cry out. All nature worships our Lord. I was outside with my daughter today, and actually was taking pics of her shadow up against our house, arms extended as if utter abandonment... I wanted it to portray a shadow of possible leaves, trees, etc around us. But then I really began looking...

Nature is praising him all over... arms spread out uplifting to God...

Then there are the pieces of nature that God gave US... to remind us of his love...

So I'm practicing Off Camera Flash, and honestly have no idea what I'm doing. LOL I haven't gotten a chance to play much, but did fiddle a bit with some flowers before a shoot I had this morning...

LOL I believe we were to start this yesterday. My whole house, minus husband, has been sick for the past several days. I began looking around for my daughter, who was quiet, and found her all settled in for a nice long read. LOL Ignore her messy hair... and our messy library. Our books are well loved for sure! It's impossible to keep them all neat... it's just not how we roll. LOL

Ok so really no vacation at all. We just had some issues with our last few challenges. But we have returned and will be working on angles this week. Sorry for the gap but back to it!!!

Week 5 - Self portrait

So I thought this one would be easy and I had all kinds of ideas but they all just weren't working out. After many pictures taken and thrown out this is what I came up with.

This was fun. I wanted to add so many different elements to this, but it was just too cluttered. Basically I just took several things that I think make up who I am. My children, my photography (camera), my ancestors and love of genealogy (that's those papers you may not be able to clearly see), my desire to travel the world (globe), my spirituality/faith (bible and cross). Then there's the candles to represent my love of candles AND taking pictures in the dark. ;) Even the wooden floor shows my preferences in design, etc. Of course then in the corner I overlaid my face. I think if I were to go back and do it, I'd make my face much more "hidden", and just a hint up there.. Just think that might look really cool.

Week 5... Self Portrait

Another week, another fun theme!! This week we'll be doing a self portrait... either with or without us actually in it. :) I know we're both already coming up with ideas, so it should be really interesting to see what it brings!

Week 4... Outside Art

Wooooo!! This was a toughy. I really wanted to look at normal things and somehow make art with it. Actually my first thought was this place outside of town that at times has a lot of semis, etc, and some huge buildings and try and show how we make art in our everday lives without realizing it. But when I go to shoot... no semis. I thought I could get by without them, but it just didn't seem the same.

So I went for a more colorful look, and ended up with this...

Week 4 ------ Outdoor Art.......and brrrrrrr it was Cold!!!!!!

Well this proved to be very difficult since outside in Michigan its just not that pretty in the winter. But then I got to thinking about it and isn't everything art.....GOD's art. He painted us this big masterpiece and I guess my goal was to look for the small things....things that usually are ignored as ugly. So to some this may not be art but to me it's part of a bigger picture.....HIS masterpiece.

Running a little late

This weeks challenge is Outside Art.We are running just a little bit late on this challenge due to bad weather and sickness. So we will both get our challenge for this week up as soon as possible. Our next challenge will be starting on Monday.

Week 3 - Doors & Windows......Arrrrrrrrgh!!!

As Jackie said this was a very difficult challenge. What made this one even harder for me is I couldn't go on an outdoor hunt for one because it was too cold and snowy. Normally this wouldn't stop me but I just didn't want to get my camera out in the elements. So here is my front door window. I tweaked it up a little to make it more pretty.

Taking pictures of doors/windows was a lot harder than I thought it would be. For one thing, we really don't have that many interesting doors around here. And another, even if we DID have an interesting door... it's hard to make a picture of a door interesting! I'd like to work on this more, just to get more creative with normal everyday things.

Deb and I both enjoyed last week!! But it's a new week and time for a new subject. This weeks subject is Windows/Doors. :) It should be interesting to see what comes of it.

Also, I haven't spoken to Deb about this yet, but I'm thinkin' that slideshow on the side will soon contain our work, instead of random pics. :)

Week 2 of 52... Love Never Fails

Unlike Deb, I had a TON of ideas all week, none of which I was thrilled with. Or some I liked but didn't have the resources on hand (like a 90 year old couple). Larry bought me a heart box of chocolates and roses for V-day, and so today I played with those and our bible, to come up with this weeks subject. :)

Ok. I had this in mind for almost the whole week. I really wasn't sure how it would turn out in the end. I kinda like it but if I couldv'e figured out how to turn the letters red instead of highlighting them......I think I wouldv'e liked it better.

We decided to pick a song title, and both photograph our interpretation of the title. Deb had a CD of Brandon Heath right on her desk in plain sight. One of the songs is "Love Never Fails". With V-day coming up this week, we decided it's perfect.
